Ugly sweaters. So I finally admit that maybe one or two of my holiday sweaters might qualify as ugly. Our favorite running store held an Ugly Sweater Party and Fun Run Thursday night, and we just had to go. My daughter’s outfit was so much uglier than mine, though. Check us out.
She picked up that 80’s tennis sweater from our church’s thrift shop but in the Christmas section they had that stunning Santa head! By the way, that is a toilet lid cover she attached to that monstrosity of a sweater. Is it any wonder she won first place in the contest? I took third in my scary cardinal sweater. The birds have eyes. Little beady eyes made of actual beads. *shudder* The prizes were terrific, though. She won a pack full of all sorts of running goodies and treats but I have to say I’m very pleased with my prize. I won a sports bra bearing the store’s logo!
I didn’t run that night since I hung out in and watched my grandson run a mile in the store–yes, a mile! He lapped the store 32 times on that track we’re standing on. Yikes, right? After the run they drew names in a drawing for entry into an upcoming race. No, I didn’t take that but my name was drawn third. I won a $25 gift card to the store!
Yeah, I already spent it. I couldn’t let it burn a hole in my wallet, lol. All in all, I have to say I’m committed to running. The swag is awesome and I can’t wait to wear the new shirt and headband I bought with my store loot.
If that isn’t incentive, I don’t know what is!
